Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

LibreGuard D.O.O., registered in Serbia, operates LibreGuard. This policy covers our apps, website, and VPN service.

1. Accounts and apps

We process account details, device identifiers, subscription status, aggregate bandwidth usage, and temporary connection information to operate LibreGuard, enforce plan limits, and secure access.

Our apps store server connection history and statistics locally on your device. This data stays on your device and is not sent to LibreGuard. All of our client VPN apps are open source.

All our VPN apps contain no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Our Android app uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting only. Newsletter signup is optional.

Device identifiers are stored in hashed form. Pro accounts can be created without an email address; keep your generated credentials and recovery code safe.

2. VPN traffic and DNS

LibreGuard does not log or store VPN users' IP addresses, browsing history, traffic contents, or DNS requests. While you are connected, our servers use temporary connection information to keep the VPN running. We also record your total data usage to enforce plan limits.

DNS requests travel through the VPN tunnel. Pro users can choose DNS-based ad blocking and filtering.

3. Payments, sign-in, and email

We do not sell personal data or use or share data collected through our iOS and macOS apps for third parties' independent advertising, marketing, or profiling. We share information to provide the services below:

  • Payments: Apple handles purchases inside our iOS and macOS apps. Apple or Google Play receives purchase references and verification information to confirm purchases and restore Pro access. Creem handles separate external card checkout. When you choose card payment, we share your email address, if available, with Creem to prefill checkout and handle your purchase, along with the selected plan and a purchase reference. You enter payment details directly at Creem checkout. Monero payments are verified through our wallet service. We keep purchase and subscription records but do not store your full card number.
  • Sign-in: If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, we exchange authentication information with that provider to sign you in. See the Apple and Google sign-in privacy notices.
  • Email: Infomaniak receives your email address and message contents to deliver account messages and newsletters you opt into. If monthly usage emails are enabled, their contents include your total bandwidth usage for that period. Infomaniak processes this data on our instructions under its data processing agreement.

We require third parties receiving personal data from our apps to provide the same or equivalent protection as this policy and applicable App Store privacy rules. This includes confidentiality, appropriate security, and respect for your data rights. Providers processing data on our behalf must use it only for the agreed services.

Creem's privacy notice, including its marketing opt-out, applies to information it receives for checkout. Records from earlier purchases remain subject to its retention rules. These payment, sign-in, and email services do not receive your VPN traffic contents, browsing history, DNS requests, or locally stored connection history.

4. Website cookies and measurement

The website measurement described below applies to libreguard.net and is separate from our VPN apps. We also use essential cookies for sign-in and account security.

We use Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET) to measure advertising conversions and campaign performance. Advertising storage is denied by default. You can accept, reject, or change advertising measurement through the advertising preferences control. Your choice is saved in your browser. When you accept, Microsoft may receive page and campaign signals and use advertising cookies. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

We also use Google's website performance analysis tools to understand how the website performs and improve it. Google processes information for that analysis under Google's privacy policy. These website tools do not measure your VPN browsing traffic.

5. Account deletion

You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated personal data through Settings → Delete Account in our iOS and macOS apps, or through the account deletion page. You may need to sign in and confirm.

We remove associated personal data when your account is deleted, except records we are legally required to retain.

Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel renewals through Apple's subscription settings.

6. Your choices and data retention

Contact support@libreguard.net to ask about accessing or correcting your data. We keep account data while providing the service, subject to the deletion process above and legal retention requirements.

You can withdraw newsletter consent in Email preferences or through a newsletter's unsubscribe link. Account and service messages continue when needed.

7. Security and policy updates

We take measures to protect account information and service access. We update this page when our practices change; the date above identifies this version.

For more about service operations, see our Transparency page and Security page. For privacy questions, email support@libreguard.net.
